History was made on the 7th August, 2013. When the first ever research centre of the state judiciary was commissioned by the chief Judge, Hon. Justice Kate Abiri at the High court complex.
The project was funded by the Government of the Netherland and the Bayelsa State judiciary. The design and implementation was done by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)
The CJ in her welcome address thanked the UNODC and other stakeholders for the actualization of the project. She also enjoyed all members of the Bar to be computer literate so as to be part of the robust case flow management system.
The UNODC country Representative, Mrs. Mariam Sissiko gave an insight to the project from inception to actualization and commended all stakeholder for a smooth collaboration. The commissioning ceremony was attended by President of the customary court of appeal, Judges, members of the state House of Assembly, lawyers, UNODC staff, the Solicitor-General, Ministry of Justice, staff of the state Judiciary etc.
