In line with its statement of purpose of representing millions of Christians who love and honour the Jewish people and those who wish to obey the word of the lord concerning them, Israel Today Nigeria on the 30th May, 2014 at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Bayelsa State celebrated eminent personalities in the state.
The categories of award bestowed at the event tagged “Celebrating Israel in Bayelsa” includes ‘Israel Flag Bearer’, ‘Chief Israel Flag Bearer’, ‘Friend of Israel’, Mother in Israel’, and ‘Jerusalem Ambassador’. The event doubles as a commemoration of the 66th year of Israel’s existence as a nation
Hon. Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, Hon. Justice Kate Abiri was honoured with the award of Chief Israel Flag Bearer, alongside the executive Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Hon. Seriake Dickson who was awarded with the Jerusalem Ambassador.
Israel Today Nigeria is a body established in 2010 to give Christians nationwide a focal point in the State of Israel; educate, inform and encourage Christians as to events and their significance in and to Israel as well as encourage travel to the holy land; stimulate Christian leaders, churches and organizations to assist in understanding and cause reconciliation amongst Christians, Arabs and Jews through education and other programs.
