It was a fruitful day in the Bayelsa State Judiciary as distinguished members of the bar and the bench gathered on the 17th of February, 2014 at the Ceremonial ground of the High Court Complex for the 2ndPublic Hearing on the draft amendment of the State’s Judiciary High Court Rules of 2010.
The Public hearing session chaired by the Hon. Chief Judge was saturated with intellectual contributions and criticisms towards the churning out of a beautiful rule of Court which will enhance speedy, effective and efficient Justice Administration.
HON. JUSTICE R. AJUWA, the Review Committee Chairman gave an overview on the rationale for the copious amendments after which he proceeded into the review of the sections with comments from the public and adoption by the CJ.
The Public hearing could not however be concluded due to the exhaustive discuss on each of the sections reviewed and this led the Hon. Chief Judge, HON. JUSTICE KATE ABIRI to adjourned the Public hearing to the 14th day of April, 2014.
HON. JUSTICE M. I. AKPOMIEMIE appreciated members of the bar and the bench, and learned silk present for their time and qualitative contributions towards the review of the High Court Rules of the State.

It is however hoped that after the third Public Hearing that the new High Court Rules of Bayelsa State will be signed in September, 2014 so as to correct anomalies in civil litigation and as well place the State Judiciary in the league of First class Justice sector in Nigeria.
