The Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, Hon. Justice Kate Abiri, CON has charged Magistrates in the State to discharge their functions with integrity, diligence and dignity.
The Hon. Chief Judge enjoined them to be hard working as the office of a Magistrate comes with great honour. She noted that the bench is not a place for lazy people and that all Magistrates who do not meet the National Judicial Council (NJC) Benchmark would be shown the way out.
The Hon. Chief Judge gave the charge today while administering the Oath of Allegiance and Judicial Oath during the swearing-in of Ms Abise Theophilus as a Chief Magistrate Grade II at the Hon. Chief Judge Chamber’s on Wednesday 15th February, 2017.
The Hon. Chief Judge advised Ms Abise Theophilus. to bring her wealth of experience as a State Counsel and also as an administrator to bear on her new position, she wished the new Magistrate well on her new assignment.
